Information on getting married in Paphos

All wedding ceremonies are conducted in English and your marriage will be fully recognised in the United Kingdom.

Should you choose to get married in Cyprus, you will need the following documents. The original documents will need to be produced by yourselves at the Town Hall on arrival to Paphos.

You will need two witnesses to sign for you.

1.Passport (10 year)

2.Birth Certificate (not always necessary)

3.If divorced, decree absolute

4.If widowed, death certificate or any previous marriage certificate.

5.If under 18 year's old, letter of consent from parents or guardian.

6.Affidavit for UK passport holders, must be obtained from solicitor.

7.If not from UK a "Freedom to Marry certificate" from your countries embassy original documents only.

We recommend you arrive at least 7 nights before the date of the wedding.

So to recap - make sure you have!

1.Certificate of No impediment of Marriage (each country has a different department that can provide this certificate)

2.Birth Certificates

3.Passports

4.Decree Absolute (if you are divorced)

5.Death Certificate in case of widow or widower.

A fee is payable for the marriage certificate to the Municipal of Marriage Officer at the Town Hall - church weddings and town hall weddings have different fees.
